We operate over summer, normally from Labour Weekend (October) until Easter or the end of the school holidays (May).
Our opening hours are from 9:00 AM, with the last paddlers heading out at 4:00 PM, every day the weather is good.

Walk-ins are always welcome, but we recommend booking in advance, especially during the high season or around full tide times.

Groups: Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more – please contact us directly.
Families: Check our website for current family deals and pricing.
If the weather is unsuitable, or heavy rain has made the river unsafe, we’ll happily rebook you for another time or offer a full refund.
Before setting off, every guest receives a full safety and environmental briefing, including:
Current river flow and conditions
Obstructions, shallows, and tide information
Expected weather forecast
You’ll also be fitted with a PFD (Personal Floatation Device), booties for walking on rocks, and a dry bag if needed.
Absolutely! The Pororari River is a Grade 1, meaning it’s calm and perfect for beginners and families. For very young children, we recommend a double kayak with 1–2 adults, and we have special seats to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe.
